Bonaiti Serrature has its headquarters and factory in Calolziocorte, in the province of Lecco. The family workshop "Giuseppe & F.lli Bonaiti" has been working iron there since around 1830, before specialising in locks. Industrial lock production began in 1936 and, since then, the brand states that all its products are manufactured in Italy.
The magnetic lock is its technical signature
Bonaiti claims to have designed, around 2000, the world's first permanent magnet magnetic lock. According to the manufacturer, eliminating traditional mechanical kinematics brings silence and smoothness both on opening and closing, reduces the dimensions of the lock and strike plate, and enables handleless models, such as the patented NO-HA mini. The range also covers mechanical locks, sliding door solutions and the Invisible system.
Two magnets and silent operation
The principle is straightforward: two attracting magnets replace the traditional bolt mechanism. The lock becomes virtually silent in use, and the door opens and closes without any slamming. This type of fastening is suitable for homes, offices and public spaces alike, and comes into its own wherever noise is particularly undesirable.
Benchmarks published by the brand
The Calolziocorte site reports approximately 15,000 locks per day on automatic assembly lines, a quality system certified UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, and 85% patented products. Its Klass model, compliant with the DIN standard, is presented as the first magnetic lock tested to UNI EN 12209.
