Choose your backplate cut-out

The lever is welded to the backplate, so the factory-drilled backplate determines its use. Choose from four versions: standard keyhole, cylinder keyhole, privacy lock for toilets and bathrooms, or a blank backplate with no cut-out. The distance between the lever and keyhole centres is 70 mm, the French standard; we can make a different spacing to order, so just let us know.

Why choose a long backplate

The long backplate covers 240 mm of the door’s height, concealing old fixing holes and chipped paint alike: a practical solution for renovated doors, gates and wicket gates. It also distributes the force along the height of the door stile, making it more forgiving than a rose on a worn door.

Manufacture

Joséphine handles are made in Poland, Europe. The 240 mm steel backplate provides rigidity, while the zamak lever gives a comfortable grip. The set has an oven-cured powder coating that does not chip and withstands outdoor conditions.
