A Lombardy house founded in 1953
The story of Mandelli Maniglie begins in 1953, around a material with the colour of gold: brass. The house designs and manufactures its door handles, window handles, pull handles and knobs in Lombardy, in the Brianza district. Its products are now distributed in over 70 countries.
Italian brass melted in its own factory
The raw material is certified first-quality Italian brass, melted and cast in the brand's own factory, then forged, turned, polished and satin-finished in-house, under the 100% Made in Italy label. Mandelli is one of the rare manufacturers that controls the entire production process on its own premises, with quality control spanning from the selection of raw materials through to final packaging.
Galvanic, PVD and Fluxcoating finishes
The finish range extends from galvanic treatments — polished brass to matt black — to PVD gold and stainless steel finishes available on selected models. Their surface hardness reaches 2,600 to 2,800 HV, compared with 800 HV for standard galvanic chrome plating. Fluxcoating Vitrified, developed by the in-house research centre, protects matt burnished and aged silver finishes against impacts and abrasion. Products are rated class 4 under standard EN 1670, meaning 240 hours in salt spray.
Two collections and an archive line
The catalogue is organised into two handle collections, Contemporary and Classic, and draws on external designers: Marco Piva, Giuseppe Bavuso, Alessandro Dubini. The Archives line reissues pieces drawn from architects' archives, including a 1933 handle by Piero Portaluppi. Juno and ZEIT received a Good Design Award in 2017; the Calin handle, by Alessandro Corina, received an honourable mention at the ADI Compasso d'Oro International Award 2025.
