THE HANDLE’S HIGHLIGHTS
This model has been found in homes dating from the early 19th century. Despite a greater focus on design and creativity, it has retained its clean lines and works beautifully in any interior. This lovely retro door handle also comes with a matching window handle and furniture fittings.
This retro door handle is cast in 6 finishes: Aged Iron, Raw Metal, Raw Bronze, Polished Bronze and the milla handles favourite, White Bronze. Beneath its soft appearance lies a high-quality natural material: bronze. This innovative material gives each handle a unique character and elegant style. If you’re looking for character, you’ll love the Pure collection.
Complete your handle set with its matching keyhole roses. You’ll find them at the bottom of the product page.
Dauby, a Belgian foundry
Dauby makes its handles to order in Belgium across two collections. Création du Fer, which includes this model, is made entirely of solid iron: each piece is cast in a sand mould and then finished by hand in one of three finishes: polished iron, black (aged iron) or waxed rust. Inspired by the latches of old farmhouses, these authentic designs suit both characterful homes and more contemporary interiors dominated by wood. PURE, the other collection, uses the same traditional techniques to create clean lines inspired by the Bauhaus, in white bronze, raw bronze, raw metal or aged iron.
Care
The iron finishes are lacquered or varnished. No coating is completely scratch-resistant: a ring, a sharp object or everyday use will leave its mark — and that is part of what gives each piece its character. If the black lacquer is damaged, it can be touched up with RAL 9005. The waxed rust finish is intentionally rough and grainy: it should not be polished, but maintained with beeswax or petroleum jelly. Never use an abrasive cleaner.
