Olivari is an Italian manufacturer of: door handles, window handles, door latches, rotary knobs, fixed knobs and other door accessories. The quality of Olivari handles is at the highest level. Olivari designer handles are intended for customers whose doors are modern and minimalist. The handles are available on round or square backplates.

Since 1911, Olivari has manufactured its products 100% in Italy, where the entire production cycle takes place. Through its research activities, Olivari has introduced new finishing processes such as vacuum metallisation. The Guilloché collection is the latest creation born from the Studio Olivari experiments. The base material for handles is brass.

100 years of Olivari product history

Throughout its 100-year history, Olivari has always strived to achieve maximum quality in its products, relying on the creativity of the best designers and architects. Olivari handles

Olivari is an Italian company that has been manufacturing handles since 1911. The company was founded in Borgomanero, in the province of Novara, by Battista Olivari. Today, the company is run by the third generation of the Olivari family. Innovation in handle design and production is a fundamental quest for all family members who run the factory.

From the 1930s onwards, the best architects and designers have been invited to cooperate in the design of handle models. The precursors of these activities are Marcello Piacentini and Gio Ponti. Among the contemporary designers and artists who have designed the most beautiful Olivari handles are Dominique Perrault, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, Zaha Hadid, Rodolfo Dordoni, Daniel Libeskind, Patricia Urquiola, Jean Nouvel, Marcel Wanders, Luca Casini, Toyo Ito, Giorgietto Giugiaro, James Irvine.

For the production of handles, Olivari has implemented a quality control system certified ISO 9001. The production process meets the environmental management standard and is certified ISO 140001 No. 0308A/1.

BIO and eco-friendly door handles

In 2005, Olivari's Research and Development department invented a unique method of ecological chromium plating of brass with the BIOCHROME coating.

Instead of hexavalent chromium, commonly used in traditional chrome plating to the detriment of health and the environment, Olivari handles are coated with trivalent chromium, which has a negligible impact on the environment. Biochromed products bear the BIO label.

Another Olivari achievement is the SUPERFINISH coating, an extremely resistant coating with a thirty-year warranty. All SUPERFINISH products have laser OLIVARI marking.

SUPERFINISH products are recommended for coastal regions and areas of intensive use such as hotels, shops and public buildings.

One of Olivari's latest developments is the SUPERFINISH Anthracite finish characterised by a durable coating more resistant than standard solutions, in a very dark grey shade with a metallic lustre. This coating has a 10-year warranty. A collection of 29 handle models in SUPERFINISH Anthracite finish has been created, including Conca, Royal, Total Twist, Planet, Chevron, Lama, Link, Euclide, Nina, Lucy, Radial, Raffaella, among others.

All Olivari window handles can be equipped with an anti-burglary system with a button that prevents the handle from turning from the outside. The pressed button also prevents the handle from turning from the inside and provides child protection.
