Italian brass handle brand, forged and finished in Gavardo, in the province of Brescia
Manital: Italian brass handles, forged and finished in Gavardo
About Manital
A family house from the province of Brescia
Manital was founded in 1990 by Luigi Bigoloni in Vobarno, in a Lombard valley with a long metallurgical tradition. In the 2000s, the company opened a new factory in Gavardo, now its headquarters and production site. Alessandro and Luca, the founder's sons, took over in the 2010s.
Hot-forged brass, finished in Italy
Brass and zamak are processed by die casting and hot forging, a method that makes the brass more resistant and produces pore-free surfaces. Sandblasting, brushing and polishing are carried out by robots and skilled craftsmen, then finishes are achieved by electroplating in chrome, nickel, bronze or brass, or by physical vapour deposition. Each piece undergoes a functional inspection before marking and packaging.
Award-winning designer handles
Manital produces its collections with architects and designers: Sottsass Associati for Amleto, Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas for Carmen, Mario Mazzer and Giovanni Crosera for NoHand, which was awarded the Compasso d'Oro ADI in 2020. The company is certified UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and its lever handles are classified 37-0050B under European standard EN 1906:2012.
