Merigous: Limoges porcelain applied to hardware
About Merigous
A French family-run manufactory, in Feytiat near Limoges
Établissements J. Merigous was founded in 1954 by Jacques Merigous and his wife Rose: the family's porcelain expertise was then directed towards decorative hardware rather than tableware. Led since 2016 by the third generation, the house holds the state label Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant and the Geographical Indication "Porcelaine de Limoges".
Production in Feytiat, still largely by hand
The manufactory uses locally sourced raw materials — kaolin, feldspar, quartz — shaped by casting, pressing or jiggering. Casting, finishing, glazing and decoration are carried out by hand by around thirty people, using moulds over sixty years old.
Historic pieces and designer collections
The oval white door knob, the founding product of 1954, and the lever handle remain the house's iconic pieces, available in several colours and in polished brass, matt nickel or bright nickel. Merigous also publishes collections designed by Delo Lindo, Wilfrid Delebecq and Alberto Pinto, and in 2000 reproduced, for the restoration of the Castel Béranger, the knob created around 1897 by Hector Guimard.

Millapoignees works with Merigous and distributes its products in France. We visit its factory to see how its products are made. Our advisers check every order to ensure consistency of finishes between the handle, its rose and its accessories, and remain reachable both before and after purchase.
