A handmade Bauhaus design from 1925
This model dates from 1925 and draws inspiration from the work of Ferdinand Kramer, a German Bauhaus architect. Its tapered body has almost no detailing: a design of pure geometry. This simplicity contrasts with its handcrafted construction, which gives each piece a texture that industrial production cannot reproduce. It belongs to Dauby’s Pure collection.
Features
- Round lever handle rose with a cover plate: the fixing screws remain hidden
- Key rose also covered, for a consistent look across the door
- Six finishes: aged iron, white bronze, satin white bronze, raw bronze, polished raw bronze, raw metal
- Sold as a pair: one handle for each side of the door
Included
- A pair of handles, one for the left and one for the right
- Two square spindles: 7 mm for France, 8 mm for Belgium, Switzerland and the EU
Care
Dauby bronze is a living material: its colour deepens over time, while areas touched by the hand polish themselves naturally. The manufacturer calls this a living finish and recommends letting it develop – no maintenance is needed. Only the black finish is made of lacquered iron: if the lacquer is damaged, it can be touched up with RAL 9005. To restore the original shine of a bronze finish, a soft cloth and copper or silver polish are all you need. Never use an abrasive cleaner.
