Marine Urbi et Orbi, concrete wall hook

A flat, smooth wall hook with a breakwater silhouette that blends into a bathroom or hallway wall. The Marine was designed in 2014 by the Urbi et Orbi studio in Athens, just after the Pomolo: the same maritime inspiration, but with a lighter form, almost like a pebble.

The manufacturer itself recommends using it as a wall hook in a bathroom or living room.

Which size for which use

• S — 46 × 44 mm, 12 mm thick, 40 g: keys, flannels, jewellery
• M — 59 × 54 mm, 16 mm thick, 90 g: towels, tea towels, light bags
• L — 81 × 75 mm, 22 mm thick, 230 g: dressing gowns, jackets, bags

Two greys, coloured throughout

The Marine comes in light grey and dark grey, the only two shades the manufacturer offers for this model. The colour runs through the concrete: each wall hook has its own nuances, and no two pieces are quite identical. Small air holes on the surface are a characteristic of concrete, not a defect.

Care

Use a soft cloth, lukewarm water and a neutral detergent. Avoid acids, alkaline products, solvents and chlorine: take care with limescale removers in a bathroom. Concrete is hard, but it can break on impact, like ceramic.
