Interior doors - classic or modern handle?
Interior doors - classic or modern handle?
The presence of a door handle is obvious to everyone and sometimes we forget that it plays a decisive role in our interior decoration. The door handle is not just a tool for opening and closing the door. It is a specific finishing touch that emphasises not only the appearance of the door, but also announces the style of the entire interior. Therefore, choosing the right handle is a real challenge.
Types of handles
The division of handles according to their operation is essentially three types: lever handles, knobs and pull handles.
Lever handle - works with the lock, the mechanism is activated by pressing the handle arm. It can take the form of a backplate, a composite longitudinal form connecting the handle to the lock, or a rose, i.e. a version where the lock and a short plate with the handle are separate.
Door knobs - there are fixed and rotating knobs, fixed knobs are only used to mechanically pull and push the leaf, and rotating knobs open the door in cooperation with the lock, after pulling or turning the knob.
Pull handle - is a type of handle used in sliding and hinged doors. Handles can be recessed into the door leaf or standard. Versions for simple movement using physical force or cooperating with crossbars are installed.
Handles are made from various materials. In the case of the interior handles described, the emphasis is not so much on resistance to, for example, changing weather conditions or humidity. Here, the materials can be less durable than in the case of external handles. Typically used: steel, aluminium, zamak, PVC, stainless steel and brass.
How to choose a handle to match the style of the door and interior?
In terms of aesthetics, door handles can be divided into traditional, stylised and designer. As you can guess, such a choice allows you to match the right handle to any interior design and door style. You can of course opt for a ready-made set, but many manufacturers respond to different customer preferences and offer separate doors and handles so that you can choose yourself.
Stylised classic handles - they are usually cast in brass, curved, decorated with floral motifs for example. They fit into classic, retro or vintage interiors, wherever they match tasteful ornaments, furniture or other elements.

Traditional handles - most often made of aluminium or Zamak. Typically used in all interiors with a moderate modern or simply neutral style.

Designer handles - if we are designing ultra-modern interiors, full of designer furniture and industrial design, door handles cannot be ordinary either. These interiors are destined for unusual combinations of metal and glass, interesting ovals, arcs or irregular shapes.
