How to clean a Crystal Handle

Door handles represent significant breeding grounds for microbes and bacteria. It is therefore advisable to clean them regularly, twice a day. Moreover, this task is highly recommended especially for beautiful crystal pieces. How to proceed? We will discover this now in this article.

Detergent

For stained and very soiled crystal handles, opt for a radical solution by using very powerful detergents. Do not hesitate on the quantity, as these products will not damage the crystal. However, care must be taken with the technique you will adopt for this cleaning process. To proceed correctly, follow these steps:

• • Take a basin and mix water with detergent.
  • Leave your crystal handles to rest in this mixture for a few minutes.
  • Scrub each handle with a soft sponge. It is strictly forbidden to scrape crystal with an abrasive sponge. This is the best way to scratch your crystal.
  • Dry your crystal pieces with a clean, dry microfibre cloth.
  • Repeat this process if the result does not satisfy you.

Water and washing-up liquid solution

• Take your crystal handles and leave them to soak in a basin of warm water mixed with washing-up liquid.
• With a soft sponge, polish your crystal pieces until all impurities are eliminated.
• Dry your crystal pieces with a clean, dry microfibre cloth.

Coarse salt and lemon juice

• In a basin, incorporate coarse salt into lemon juice.
• Ensure the salt is well dissolved before applying it to the surface of the handle to be treated.
• Rinse with water to complete the process, then dry.

Using white vinegar.

• Rub with a cloth or sponge soaked in hot water on the surface of the crystal handle to remove as much dust and dirt as possible.
• Soak a new cloth in white vinegar and water,
• wash your crystal handles.
• Wipe with a new slightly damp cloth, then dry quickly with a soft, dry cloth to finish

Practical advice on caring for crystal

• Be aware that crystal can be scratched easily. In this case, avoid scraping the crystal with an abrasive sponge or a cloth that is not clean. This is the best way to scratch your crystal.
• To restore your crystal handles to their original brilliance, apply coffee grounds and wait at least two hours for the product to work. Then rinse the object with vinegar water and dry with a clean, soft cloth.
