History:

The name "Demenico" has survived through the ages, passed down from generation to generation. It evokes the shaded rocks that only see daylight under the midday sun. This name, probably of Venetian origin and adapted by locals, dates back to when the Venetian navy attempted to conquer these lands without ever succeeding. Perhaps it was the name of a shipwrecked vessel or a stranded Venetian sailor who gave his name to this region.
