This name, probably of Venetian origin and adapted by locals, dates back to the time when the Venetian navy attempted to conquer these lands without ever succeeding. Perhaps it was the name of a shipwrecked vessel or a stranded Venetian sailor who gave his name to this region.

Transformed by the sea, this knob has changed from a rough, wild and solitary form to a smooth, accessible and pleasant form. Despite this transformation, it never forgets its roots in Demenico.
