What is a door rose?

The door rose is a small disc, often metallic (stainless steel, aluminium or zamak), which can take various shapes, pierced at its centre to accommodate either the door handle or the lock cylinder. It is a cover that gives your door an aesthetically pleasing finish. 

There are two types of rose:

. the rose for the door handle: this rose (also called an escutcheon) serves as the fixing point for the handle to the door panels. The alternative to this product is the handle on a longitudinal backplate, which combines the handle and any lock.

. the rose for the lock cylinder: this model serves to house the locking system (cylinder in particular) or to dress the lock hole. This rose contributes to the aesthetics of the set (handle and rose pair) but also serves to ensure the security function of the room or home.

The door lock rose should be chosen to match the design of the door handle on rose, to create a successful decorative pair. There are now as many roses as there are door handles. 1. The different types of door lock roses

Door lock roses come in three main forms:

. the cylinder key lock or "i" key

. the bedroom key lock or "L" key
