A few years ago, the fashionable handles were those on round backplates, and before that, handles on longitudinal backplates. Today, design has changed and customers are asking for new handles, atypical and contemporary, on square, rectangular or concealed backplates.

Handle on round backplate

A retro handle on a longitudinal backplate will certainly not work for doors designed in a modern style. Likewise, a model fitted on a vintage door creates an incongruous effect.

Choosing the wrong handle can make an interior design look poorly conceived. Of course, you can try an unconventional combination, but bear in mind that combining contrasting elements is tricky. Therefore, great care is recommended. When in doubt, it is best to stick to simple and harmonious principles of interaction between elements.

IMPORTANT ADVICE! Before buying a door handle, check how it feels in your hand. Make sure it is practical, comfortable, easy to use and free from sharp edges. Remember that the main role of a door handle is undoubtedly to open the door, so it must be practical and safe. Sharp edges can be a hazard – particularly in homes with young children.
