History:

The name "Demenico" has endured through the ages, passed down from generation to generation. It evokes the shaded rocks that only see daylight under the midday sun. This name, probably of Venetian origin and adapted by the locals, dates back to the time when the Venetian navy attempted to conquer these lands without ever succeeding. Perhaps it was the name of a shipwrecked vessel or a stranded Venetian sailor that gave its name to this region.
