DCG Laiton, whose full name is Design-Cuivrerie-Gros, is a family business founded in 1989 and based in Woignarue, in the heart of the Vimeu area of the Somme. The region is the French cradle of locksmithing, foundry work, precision turning and polishing, and the brand presents itself as a French manufacturer, father to son.
Six steps, all in its own workshops
The brand describes an integrated manufacturing process: mould design, gravity sand-casting, turning and precision machining, drilling, silver brazing and hand polishing. Three casting techniques are used: sand casting, lost-wax casting and die casting. DCG works exclusively with solid brass and bronze.
Ten patinas, and bespoke
Standard finishes range from polished brass to chocolate bronze, including satin nickel, chrome brass, matt antique brass, matt slate, antique copper and matt lacquered brushed brass; gilding and silvering are available on request. The company also produces bespoke pieces from an idea, a drawing or a plan, with casting, machining, bending, drilling, tapping, surface treatment and polishing.
